A live show backstage is a flawless orchestra operating as the central nervous system, ensuring every element seamlessly syncs perfectly. Introducing any new component can potentially disrupt the entire rhythm. I pitched an idea to the BET Awards producers to capture exclusive moments from the show, offering a unique perspective inaccessible to other media outlets. The vision materialized as the BET Awards photo studio. My goal was to position the studio as close to the stage as possible without causing any interruptions and efficiently wrangling the performers and presenters toward the setup. The 7x7 photo studio setup stage left, enabling us to capture studio-quality shots of performers and presenters. Identifying our unprecedented access, People Magazine requested a 48-hour embargo on the photos to maximize their social impact.

Among the many personalities captured were Marsai Martin, DJ Khaled, Cordae, H.E.R., Migos, DJ Mustard, and more.  Unfortunately, we missed capturing Lizzo after her mega-performance, but everything aligned perfectly with our objectives and set the benchmark for future shows.
